A rendered image of the Xbox Series S console with a price tag of $299 was just leaked on thurrott.com by Brad Sams. As of the time of making this video there isn’t an official announcement by Microsoft about this console.
The console itself is white with what seems like a ventilation grid in black. The other cool thing is a white controller alongside it.
What worries me is the price. It’s not that this isn’t a good price for a console, I mean $299, of course, it is. But if this is the price of what should be less powerful hardware, maybe the Xbox Series X will even top $599, $100 more than the predictions. Maybe I am being too paranoid but still. [update] Cancel that, WindowCentral mentioned a price of $499 for the Xbox Series X!
In this tweet by WalkingCat, we can see a video of the console and see how small it is. It doesn’t seem to have a disc drive though. You can see how it is compared to the Xbox Series X in terms of size and it’s very small!
So how powerful is the new Xbox Series S console? We can expect it to be more powerful than the Xbox One, but how close to the Xbox Series X is it, in terms of performance?
On WindowsCentral website they mentioned that Microsoft is planning to launch an announcement event and based on the leaks, they already mentioned a date for both the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S: Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X will launch on November 10, 2020.
Not just that, the mentioned that the price of the Xbox Series X will be $499.
Update: Apparently Pringles is the one that leaked the price, seems unintentionally as shared by Forbes.
There is apparently the Xbox Series X price that you can win, and they based the price of the Series X console based on that (after conversion).
So much information leaked it’s crazy.
Again, we still wait for more information, and probably Microsoft, after this leak, will release information sooner than expected but we’ll wait and see.
