When Xbox Series X Best Looking Games will Arrive?

None of the current launch titles of the Xbox Series X impressed me, graphics-wise. I’m sure there are plenty of gamers, including myself, that want to see what’s the Xbox Series X is capable of in terms of graphics performance. To see games that fully utilized the graphics processing capability of this next-gen console to its limits.

I expect these types of games to be released later on, in around 2022 and beyond. This is because of several reasons. There are companies who still working on their titles, making updates to their game engine, and some of the next-gen game engines like Unreal Engine 5, will be release in late 2021.

I’ve seen that in the PlayStation 4 and I expect this to be the same with PS5/XSX. However, for the PS5 is more understandable when it comes to exclusives. It’s easier to develop and optimize a game for a particular platform when the game is planned to only run on that platform.

Some games that impressed me on the PS4 were Battlefield 1, although not exclusive, has an updated engine that made the best of the PS4 graphics capabilities. When it comes to exclusives, Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and The Order: 1886 — all PS4 exclusives (at least back then) look absolutely breathtaking visually wise.

The question is because we already know that Xbox Series X won’t have exclusive games (both will be released for PC and Xbox), will see games that can take full benefit of the graphics processing capacities of the XSX console?

Everyone talks about how powerful the Xbox Series X console is, but the console is powerful doesn’t mean that there will be games that will utilize its full power potential.

Don’t get me wrong. There will be games that will push the graphics performance forward and have high system requirements, to begin with. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of them. It depends on how the developer approach the development for each platform and the changes applied to graphics.

We know that Cyberpunk 2077, for example, will have raytracing enabled on XSX and PS5 but on my Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti, I won’t be able to play it with Raytracing. How much difference the game looks when you run it on a certain platform with particular hardware. I want to see games with Smart Delivery on the Xbox Series X that pushed these boundaries and deliver significantly better-enhanced visuals. Graphics that I’ll say “WOW!, This looks next-gen”. Not something that just looks “nicer”.

Unreal Engine 5 shows us what a next-gen game engine is capable of, running on the PS5, so I expect the XSX to be at least equivalent if not better. It might take some time until we see those “Best Graphics” games available for the XSX, but you can be sure that those ones will also look amazing on PC as well (considering equivalent specs or better). I just don’t have high expectations at launch but I am optimistic that the Xbox Series X with the best graphics are yet to come and they will blow our minds away.
