Today I was thinking about getting a new phone with a larger display, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max looked very tempting.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max can be incredible for gaming. I am looking forward to playing League of Legends: Wild Rift on my mobile phone. I haven’t played League of Legends but love MOBA.
My favorite MOBA game on a mobile platform was Arena of Valor but it’s now dead on the Switch so I search for an alternative. I was against playing on mobile because the screen of my phone was small. If I had a phone with a larger display, I might enjoy it—like the iPhone 12 Pro Max for example.
I personally like the fact that the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a large display. As you can see in the above image, the Pro Max’s display is significantly larger than the others (6.70-inch vs 6.10 & 5.40).
A large display is important for gaming, especially if you don’t plan to use any detachable accessories that serve as a controller (so-called mobile game controllers / Gamepads).
A large screen enables you to see more of the game as your thumbs cover part of it. Things look larger which leads to a more immersive and fun gameplay experience. This is especially true to top-down view games like a MOBA game, like League of Legends: Wild Rift where the characters are small and it’s hard to identify visual cues of abilities on a small display.
Aside from that, I also like the bezel on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Although it’s smaller than the 11 Pro Max, still, I prefer my hands covering a bezel than mostly the screen itself. As it is with ultra-slim bezel phones.
You might ask me, why I prefer playing League of Legends on mobile to my gaming laptop computer that can run it just fine. Well, because I enjoy playing MOBA just lying on my bed. I know it might sound weird, but I really enjoyed playing MOBA on the Switch when I did, because it was a fantastic game playing using a handheld device. I expect League of Legends: Wild Rift to feel the same way. Aside from that, it will be with fewer characters, to begin with, and it will make it easier to get into the game.
The iPhone 12 Pro Max also has a fantastic sharp display, very good battery life, powerful chipset and of course can run any game out there. In fact, many other phones can, you don’t really need the most powerful phone to enjoy all of the graphically-demanding games on both Android and iOS. That being said, it’s future proof and I buy a phone every 4-5 years so why not buy a very good one.
All in all, I am thinking of getting the iPhone 12 Pro Max as a gaming device and play League of Legends Wild Rift when it launched in my country.
