Does Xbox Series X has Heating Issues?

The Xbox Series X might have a serious heating issue–at least according to allegedly and article quoting Twitch creator Ken Bogard’s video. Although since then the video has been deleted and this might suggest fake news.

That being said, it’s not the only place that things related to heating has been mentioned online.

This is by an editor at CNET name Jeff Bakalar.

Keep in mind that that pre-release version of the Xbox Series X console.

We need to consider the fact that the Xbox Series X is considerbly smaller than the PlayStation 5.

Xbox Series X: 151 x 151 x 301 mm (5.94 x 5.94 x 11.85 inches)
PlayStation 5: 390 x 260 x 104mm (15.4 x 10.24 x 4.09 inches)

Although the PlayStation 5 is narrower. But after looking at the internal design of the PS5–we can see that it’s very well designed to exhaust heat very fast and keep the console cool in intense operations.

PS5 and Xbox Series X benchmarks will be done after the console is released, until then we rely on information brought to us by those who actually tried it.

When I looked at the teardown of the PS5, I’m very optimistic that the PS5 won’t have any heating issues. Seeing Sony innovating using liquid metal TIM and seeing the huge intake cooling fans–this made me relaxed. I remember the first time when we’ve seen the PS5 console, many people actually thought that the Xbox Series X will have a huge advantage because of the way it’s designed. Now opinions have been reversed and many people believe that the PS5 has an advantage.

Again, we need to wait and see tests using the final production version of the X to be sure if the Xbox Series X has heating issues if at all.
