Hey everyone, SpookyFairy here! So, it’s been about two weeks since I got my hands on the brand new TCL C755/C805, and let me tell you, this thing is loaded. This monster packs HDMI 2.1, sweet speakers, Dolby Vision, FreeSync, and a whopping 144Mhz refresh rate – basically everything I was looking for in a new TV. Plus, the 50-inch size fits perfectly in my living room.
Now, let’s get down to brass tacks. The picture quality? Absolutely stunning. Colors are popping off the screen, everything is super sharp, and HDR content looks incredible. Seriously, it’s like stepping into another world. And the sound? Don’t get me started! I was actually surprised by how good the built-in speakers are. They’re no substitute for a dedicated sound system, but for casual viewing, they hold their own.
But hey, no TV is perfect, right? Here’s where things get a little tricky. I noticed some vertical bending on the screen. Now, I know some folks might not even see it, but it’s definitely there on mine. Not a dealbreaker by any means, but something to keep in mind.
Second thing – some artifacts showed up, mainly in fast-paced scenes. A bit annoying, but there seem to be some workarounds. Lowering the J reduction or switching from Dolby IQ to plain Dolby Vision seems to do the trick.
Lastly, there’s a slight vignette effect, but it’s so minor it’s barely noticeable.
All things considered, I’m really digging this TV. The picture quality is top-notch, the built-in features are impressive, and the gaming experience is smooth as butter. Just remember the little quirks I mentioned, and you can decide if the C755/C805 is the right fit for you.
Hit me up in the comments if you have any questions, and let me know what kind of content you’d like to see on this bad boy next!
