Hey everyone, SpookyFairy here! Brace yourselves, because I’m about to introduce you to your next potential obsession: No Rest for the Wicked by Moon Studios, the folks behind the incredible Ori games.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Moon Studios? Sign me up!” But before you dive headfirst, let’s take a quick look at what this new title has in store.
No Rest for the Wicked – More Than Just a Pretty Face
First things first, this ain’t your typical open-world sandbox. No Rest for the Wicked is an action RPG, and from the glimpses I’ve seen, the art style looks absolutely phenomenal – vibrant, beautiful, and ready to pull you right into the world. While the world itself might be more linear, get ready to explore tons of secret areas – you know I love a good hidden nook!
Combat: It’s All About Timing and Tactics
The combat is isometric, which means you’ll be controlling your character from a fixed perspective. Think Diablo, but with a heavier focus on precision timing and spacing. Mastering these will be key to coming out on top.
And speaking of coming out on top, there will be a vast arsenal of weapons and gear to collect, each with their own unique stats and move sets. Think swords that unleash fiery tornadoes, or axes that rain down icy doom – you get the idea. Plus, you can enchant your weapons with runes to further customize your combat style.
Beyond Combat: A World of Possibilities
But No Rest for the Wicked isn’t all about bashing bad guys. Here’s what else got me hyped:
- Create Your Own Hero: Dive into a character creator and mold your hero to your liking.
- Team Up With a Friend: The game supports co-op multiplayer, so grab a buddy and conquer this world together!
- Crafting FTW: Unleash your inner crafter and create powerful gear and even furniture!
- A Dynamic World: Buckle up, because the world in No Rest for the Wicked is constantly evolving. Revisit areas and you might encounter new enemies and challenges – keeps things exciting, right?
- Risk vs Reward: The game introduces cursed items – powerful tools with negative drawbacks. You’ll have to weigh the benefits against the risks – a choice that could make or break your adventure.
Early Access on April 18th
Now, there’s one small catch: No Rest for the Wicked is hitting Early Access on April 18th, 2024. This means some features might still be under development. But hey, that’s the beauty of Early Access, right? You get to be a part of the development journey and help shape the game.
So, what do you think? Will No Rest for the Wicked be your next adventure? Let me know in the comments below, and if you have any other games I should check out, hit me up!
