Lately, I found myself spending countless hours watching Elden Ring speedrun. Mostly streams by Distortion2 and Mitchriz.
I’ve been playing Elden Ring more than 400 hours now and I am loving it. I was never into speedruns as I found them boring to watch. But something happened to me after playing Elden Ring I guess. I kind of learned how to appreciate skilled players being able to beat bosses so easily, those that Iwas struggling myself. And not just that, seeing some glitches on how to skip bosses and a large portion of the game–something I haven’t done myself.
That being said, I like the competitive side of it, seeing how Elden Ring speedrunners trying to shell seconds or preferably minutes over the previous record made by their competitors.
Zip is one of the most used techniques, allowing players to skip a large area. It’s a glitch of course, but seeing players using it and finding new ways to speedrun Elden Ring as fast as possible is really exciting.
As of the time of making this post, Distortion2 holds the world record for Any% Unrestricted speedrun playing Elden Ring. The record is 8:56 but he is already aiming for sub 8 minutes, which is crazy!
Distortion2 is streaming his speedruns on Twitch and I highly recommend visiting his Twitch and checking it out.
Even now, watching both Valorant Masters and Distortion2 channel at the same time 🙂
