Finished Elden Ring and want a similar alternative game to Elden Ring to have fun and challenge yourself as well. Here is a list of games similar to Elden Ring and ones you might consider playing after Elden Ring.
I finished Elden Ring and NG+ second playthrough. I love the game, but I think it’s time to move on. Thing is, that I still want to play different builds which I wanted to try, but I crave something else.
Some can continue playing Elden Ring for thousands of hours, others want to continue discovering more amazing games to play.
Thing is, that after you play a game like Elden Ring, it’s really hard to find something else to play. I can speak for myself, this is my first soul game, and I love the challenging gameplay experience that I endeavored. One of the reasons I wanted to play Elden Ring was I kind of had enough of “easy games” and wanted to challenge myself.
Other Games I Consider Playing After Elden Ring
So, there are some games on my radar. I don’t know if I want straight away yet another soul game or something else. Some of you might had enough for now from a souls game and want to move on to something “easier”/casual others might want to jump into something similar.
Dark Souls / Bloodborne / Sekiro / Deamon’s Souls

If you haven’t played other souls games and want to continue playing a challenging soul game that is very similar to Elden Ring, one of the Dark Souls games (DS1/DS2/DS3) or Bloodborne is the best pick.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is also highly recommended by the community but many say it’s super brutal, way more than any other Dark Soul games and Elden Ring. Something to keep in mind.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legends of Zelda Breath of the Wild is mentioned a lot alongside Elden Ring’s name because Elden Ring’s open-world game seems to be inspired by it. Many mentioned the ability to put markers on the map, which is similar to BOTW.
Of course don’t expect the same challenging fights, as BOTW is a significantly more chill experience in comparison. Breath of the Wild is a highly praised open-world game, some say it was way hyped and there are players who actually found the game boring and repetitively boring. For others, it’s one of the best games ever made.
One way to know if it’s for you is by playing it. It’s a Nintendo Switch exclusive, just so you know. It’s one of the top ones on my list to play as I need to see for myself whether I’ll like it or not.
Remnant From The Ashes

Remnant from The Ashes is an Action Role-Playing game that was inspired by souls games but with emphasis on guns alongside melee combat. If you are searching for something like Elden Ring with guns, this game might be the perfect one for you.
It features a beautiful post-apocalyptic world overrun by mythical creatures.
Code Vein

Code Vein is another successful Souls-like action RPG game developed by Bandai Namco Studios. The game is set in the not too distant future where a disaster has brought the world to ruin and vampire-like beings battle for dominance. If you like the vampire theme and Japanese anime character design in a souls-like game, this game is for you.
If you play on PC, there is a free demo you can try out on Steam, as of the time of writing this article.
Nioh 2

Nioh 2 is a Samurai souls-like action role-playing game. It doesn’t feature an open-world design, but some players prefer the more linear map design. If so, and you love Japanese culture in a souls game, you’ll love Nioh 2. It’s better than the first one and it will provide you with a challenging gameplay experience.
The combat system was improved. And exploring violent Sengoku-era Japan and the deadly Dark Realm is a joy throughout. IF you like to change the fantasy theme of Elden Ring to something more Japanese authentic, Nioh 2 is the Elden Ring alternative for you.
