In this post, I’ll answer some of the frequently asked questions about Elden Ring. Of course these answers are from my experience of the game, which I’ve played more than 300 hours and completed my first playthrough.
Q: Is Elden Ring a difficult game?
A: From a casual gamer perspective, Yes. It has a higher learning curve, but after a bit of time, you adjust to it. There are many ways to tackle combat, which can make many engagement much easier that you might think. This includes summons, closeby respawn point, lots of range combat options including magic, co-op option, strong early-game meta builds, a shield that can negate damage, stealth, elevation and more.
Q: How much time does it take to finish a playthrough in Elden Ring?
A: About 35-50 hours but even 200 hours and more if you want to do the optional quests and discover all things for yourself.
Q: Is Elden Ring boring?
A: The most fun gameplay experience I’ve ever had. Stunning world, amazing fun exploration, secret areas, superb combat and amazing boss fights.
Q: Is Elden Ring cross-platform/cross-play?
A: The game was released for multiple platforms but it doesn’t support full cross-play. There is cross-play between PS4/PS5 and PC/Xbox but you can’t co-op with Xbox/PC if you are on PlayStation and vice versa.
Q: Does Elden Ring graphics suck?
A: Elden Ring has stunning captivating visuals. It might not be at the same graphical fidelity as Forbidden West, but the art direction makes the open-world way more appealing, visually stunning and immersive in my opinion than any other open-world game I’ve played before.
Q: How many simultaneous coop players does Elden Ring support in multiplayer?
A: Maximum of 4 players can play together in co-op.
Q: Can I play Elden Ring with friends cooperatively?
A: Yes. You create a group with a password and other players with the same group password can join you.
Q: How many bosses are available in Elden Ring in total
A: Based on what I’ve read, there are around 120 bosses in total in Elden Ring, many of them are optional and not a must to complete the game.
Q: Which is the hardest boss in Elden Ring
A: Based on comments on my YouTube and posts on reddit, I think the final boss, Melania, Starscourge Radahn, and Godskin Duo are among the toughest ones for many players to beat.
Q: What do you like the most in Elden Ring
A: Exploration and discovery, alongside fantastic combat and boss fights.
Q: Is the quest system in Elden Ring any good?
A: Debatable. Hard to track questline but at the same time it feels more natural to the open-world game’s mystery and discovery. A patch was made to show NPCs on the map, so now it’s easier but still no tracking option in the UI.
Q: Is Elden Ring worth buying?

Q: Which class is the best in Elden Ring?
A: The one that probably fits the playstyle best you want to start with. Eventually, you can respec and change it later.
Q: How is Elden Ring’s Performance on PS5 and PC?
A: I played on PlayStation 5, it was very good, with dips in frame rates but overall I was very satisfied with the performance on the PS5. On PC, many players had performance issues that needs to be addressed. Might be solved by the time of writing these lines, worth checking forums and official tweets about that.
Q: Are there any dungeons in Elden Ring?
A: Yes! and there are so much fun to explore and feel rewarding as well.
Q: Is Elden Ring free to play?
A: No, you have to buy it to play it.
Q: On what platforms Elden Ring is available on?
A: PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows
Q: Is there any reasons to buy Elden Ring on PC rather than on PS5?
A: Well, more flexible save option, graphics settings options, sharing saves and mods for the most part. between 45-60 fps on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
Q: What are Elden Ring’s graphics settings on the PS5 and Xbox Series X?
A: There are two graphics settings: ‘Quality’ mode that made for 4K resolution and runs between 30-60 fps (sometimes seven dips into 20s fps). The ‘frame-rate’ is optimized for faster frame rates and runs around 45-60 fps.
Q: Is Elden Ring deserving all the 10/10 Review scores?
A: It doesn’t come without its shortcomings, but overall, it delivers an amazing gameplay experience that we rarely see in today’s open world games. Although you might not like it yourself, which is true with any other game, but in my experience, it’s a brilliant game when it comes to combat, exploration and open-world game design.
Q: Is Elden Ring Game of The Year (GOTY)?
A: In my opinion, it would definitely be nominated, and should win. So yes, in my own opinion, I would place it 1st.
Q: Does Elden Ring supports HDR?
A: Yes. I played it on the PS5 with HDR and it looks incredible. Definitely recommend playing Elden Ring in HDR if you have a monitor that supports HDR.
