Returnal PC – Release Date, Worth Buying?, Too Hard?

Returnal is one of the best exclusive games that I played on the PlayStation 5. Although I had the PS5, I never thought about buying it because I heard it’s very difficult and many players don’t even finish it because of that.

However, after sticking my teeth into Elden Ring, the first game I played in the souls genre, not just that I wasn’t terrified of Returnal, I was actually pumped to play it!

Is Return Too Hard?

I’m not gonna lie, Returnal isn’t an easy game but at the same time, it’s not overwhelmingly difficult either. Well, if you get a chance to get good drops and you practice learning to play well. If you do, you’ll find it to be much more accessible than you have thought.

I am a casual gamer, who likes “easy” games, and if I was able to sustain it, I’m sure you can. Thing is, I did get a “psychological treatment” when I played Elden Ring. So it was kind of a practicing ground. At least in the psychological aspect.

The most important thing is that progressing in such game felt so much more satisfying than playing a casual game for me. I learned that the gratification of progressing in roguelike/roguelite games is what makes them so much fun. But you need to hang in there and sustain the failures.

So “hard” or “difficult” shouldn’t be a scary word, but something that actually wants you to go, play and conquer the challenges. I’m sure you will feel great overcoming them.

Returnal Release Date for PC

Returnal will be released for PC on February 15, 2023 on Steam and Epic Game Store.

Returnal PC vs PS5 Differences

Although you will be paying a full price for a game that was released back in April 2021, you will get an enhanced version of the game as highlighted in this Returnal 4K features trailer below.

As you can see, Returnal for PC brings many new amazing features, including ray tracing support, and ultrawide monitor support (inc. 21:9), Dolby Atmos, DLSS, FSR, and support for the DualSense gamepad on PC!

Should You Buy Returnal for PC if you played it on PS5?

Well, that’s up to you. I’ll be getting it because of the extra features and wanting to experience it again, and this is another reason to do it. I was planning diving into it on the PS5 again, but this time around I’ll get it on the PC because I can play it on a widescreen and with high-quality ray-tracing.
