Yesterday I had an issue with my SteelSeries Arctis 5 gaming headset. Suddenly, using it on Windows 10, out of the blue, the right ear suddenly stops making sound and I can only hear sound coming from the left side of the headset, the left ear.
That was weird as I haven’t done anything, just listening to a YouTube video. I thought about returning it and only searched for the receipt–as I bought it just two weeks ago.
I decide to try out one solution before I do that and check the audio balance on Windows 10 (also available on Windows 11 obviously) to see if it’s muted there.
Indeed, that was the issue. This might be the solution for the problem you are having where you can’t hear sound coming from one of the sides of your headset or maybe the volume of one side of your gaming headset is too low compared to the other.
Fix Sound Coming from Just One Side of Your Headset
It might not work for you and you might have failed hardware, but it’s worth trying out first.
Here is out to solve the audio issue, whether you are using the SteelSeries gaming headset or another one.
Hopefully, this helps and you won’t need to mess around returning your headset or send it to repair if you have a warranty. Tell me if it worked out for you. Thanks.
