Best VR Martial Arts Fighting Game for Meta Quest 2

Today I played one of the best VR fighting games for Quest 2, Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu. A virtual reality KungFu game. It’s a single-player game that was made from the ground up for VR.

You get into the shows of different martial arts characters of your choice. There are more than 40 characters to choose from, each one with its own background story and strengths.

The game features different game modes, the main one evolved progressing and obtaining stars to continue progressing through the levels until you reach the “end boss”.

There is also an arcade mode where you fight against stronger opponents and need to defeat the last, strongest opponent at the end.

The great thing about Dragon Fist VR Kung Fu is the combat of course. It feels “punchy” and reactive. You can play the game seated or standing. There is also an experimental mode that enabled you to control the character’s movement by leaning your head/body to the direction you want to move. It actually works surprisingly well. If you have the HTC Vive with satellites. The game supports full-body tracking. So it will recognize your movement in the real-world space and if you kick, for example, your character will kick as well—pretty awesome if you ask me.

The attention to detail is amazing, starting from the sound effects, like when moving over grass or a wooden place, it will be reflected in the game. The hitbox seems pretty accurate and alongside punchy sound effects, you really feel like you are hitting your opponent, although there is no force feedback of course, not with the Meta Quest 2 controllers at least.

Having force feedback and resistance to VR controllers can really make whole the difference in the world for VR fighting games like that, something I hope to see in the future–consumer level ones that is.

Overall, a fantastic VR game. Highly recommended for any VR enthusiast, not just those who love playing fighting games.

Get it on Steam, Oculus Store (App Lab/Early Access) and SideQuest.
