Hello everybody. in this video I want to talk about the differences between Paragon the Overtime versus predecessor. these are two paragon remakes.
Now, the more I play the two, the more I realize how different these two games are. Ovrerprime really feels like a different mobile game compared to Predecessor, which tries to stay loyal to the original paragon formula.
For example Paragon the Overprime map feels very different compared to the original paragon game. As features like invisibility, pools and bushes the ability for prime to attack the base, and a teleportation portal in others.
Even some of the characters have their face changed compared to the original paragon game.
I’ve seen that fans of the original paragon game will prefer Predecessor in that aspect although I definitely see quite a lot of paragon fans really liking the new innovative map design of overtime.
Some asked on my youtube channel, whether those two compete against each other and if there is room for two paragon remakes in general.
Now that is yet to be seen. however, I do think that predecessor right now is more popular and will probably continue to be due to the fact that tries to be as close as possible to the original paragon game. This is of course, the reason why people follow those projects in the first place. Fans who really wanted to relive the memories of playing paragon back in the PlayStation 4 days.
Also, as of right now, it seems that Overprime will be more popular, to begin with in Korea and probably in other Asian countries. I remember somebody mentioning that 70% of Overprime players right now, as of the playtest, are from Korea.
So personally, I think that these two games are really kind of separated apart from each other and maybe it’s a good thing because spoilers will be able to try different mobile games and pick up the one we like best. Some others might think that maybe it’s better to have paragon remakes that are very similar to each other to invite competition so we get a better paragon remake game.
I have to admit that I do enjoy playing Overprime. That being said, even while playing Overprime playtest, I really miss playing paragon and this is where predecessor convinced me much more than Paragon: The OVerprime.
So we are definitely going to see two camps of new moba games. I have no doubt that one will be more popular than the other and I have a feeling that it might be predecessor.
Again, all that is yet to be seen and I really look forward to playing one of those games. I definitely don’t see myself playing two games at the same time. But I know for sure once predecessor is released on December 1st, 2022.
